University Police Alerts and Timely Warnings List

5/22 Safety Alert

On 5-22-08 at approximately 12:45 am University Police received a complaint of an armed robbery outside of 305 Flint Village.

Victim states 2 dark skinned B/M punched him and put a gun in his back. They left in a car driven by another dark skinned B/M.

The vehicle and one suspect were apprehended a short time later.

Remember that there is safety in numbers; it is best travel with 2-others especially after dusk.

NOTE: On 5-22-08 at 1:30 pm all suspects involved in the Flint Village armed robbery were arrested.


3/5 Safety Alert

The Buffalo Police Department is investigating several off-campus robberies of UB students in the University Heights area.

Please be alert to your surroundings, and remember that there is safety in numbers. It is best to travel with at least two others; especially after dusk. Utilize safety escort services and public transportation whenever possible. Safety Escort Program can be reached at: (716) 348-1608.


2/29 Safety Alert

The Buffalo Police are investigating an Armed Robbery that occurred on Thursday February 28, 2008 at approximately 10:40 pm near 75 Northrup. Victim states 2 males approached her and one of them put a gun to her chest and asked for her money and cell phone.

  • Suspect #1 - black male, 14 - 17 years old, 5'6", thin build, wearing a grey hoodie and a black and white bandana.
  • Suspect #2 - black male, 14-17 years old, 5'8",thin build, wearing a brown hoodie.

Remember that there is safety in numbers; it is best to travel with others especially after dusk. Report any crime on campus by dialing 645-2222 or dial 9-1-1 from off campus.


1/14 Safety Alert

Recently there have been vehicle break-ins on the South Campus. When parking your vehicle, make sure not to leave valuables in plain view. Secure items such as: laptops, GPS units, radar detectors, and pull-out radios in your trunk or out of site. If possible, secure mounting hardware out of site as this can be an indication to thieves that a device might be inside the vehicle. As always, please be vigilant for suspicious activity in and around campus parking lots and immediately report this activity to the University Police, using any Blue Light Phone or by calling 645-2222. Let’s work together for a safe community.
